Flarewell is built so that your health information stays yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
Data we collect
None on our servers. Flarewell has no account system and no backend that receives your health data. Everything you log — migraines, triggers, medications, notes — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData, and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synced through your own private iCloud database (CloudKit) that only you can access. We cannot see it.
Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Flarewell reads only sleep, menstrual cycle, and workout data, read-only, to show alongside your logs and compute on-device patterns. It is never written back to Health and never leaves your device. You can decline or revoke this at any time in iOS Settings; the app works fully without it.
Location & weather
If you enable weather context, your approximate location is used only to look up local weather patterns (temperature and barometric pressure) and note them with that day's entry. The lookup uses MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute), which needs coarse coordinates to return the local forecast. Your location is never stored by us anywhere, never linked to you, and never used for anything but that weather lookup. Weather is entirely optional and off unless you turn it on.
On-device intelligence
Natural-language entry and pattern narration run on Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your text and logs are processed on your device and are not sent to us or any third party.
Analytics & tracking
Flarewell runs no third-party analytics on your health content and does not track you across apps or websites.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. We use the App Store (and, if applicable, RevenueCat) to manage subscription entitlements; these process purchase records, never your health data.
Your control
- Export all your data as JSON at any time (Settings → Export).
- Delete all your data permanently from the device and your iCloud (Settings → Delete all data).
Children
Flarewell is not directed at children under 13.
