We Do Not Collect Your Data

Read2Play does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data with anyone. We have no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The one exception is the optional reading leaderboard, which is off by default and, only if you choose to turn it on, publishes a non-identifying nickname and score as described below.

Your Data Stays on Your Device

All reading time, gaming time, creature progress, and household information is stored exclusively on your Apple device. Nothing is sent outside your device to any server we operate.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your Apple account, your data may sync across your own devices through Apple's iCloud/CloudKit service. This is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not operate any cloud servers and have no access to your iCloud data.

Optional Reading Leaderboard

Read2Play includes an optional reading leaderboard that lets families compare reading progress. It is turned off by default, and a parent must turn it on using the parent PIN. When it is enabled for a child, the app publishes a small, non-identifying record to a shared Apple iCloud (CloudKit) database containing only:

• A nickname you choose — never your child's real name;
• An optional city name you may enter (you can leave it blank or hidden);
• A single emoji avatar and an integer points score earned from reading.

To make entering a city easier, the app offers an optional "suggest my city" button. If you tap it, the app requests your device's approximate location once, converts it to a city name, and immediately discards the coordinates — only the city name is kept, and only if you choose to keep it. Your precise location is never stored or transmitted. You can always type or hide the city instead.

We never publish your child's real name, age, birthday, precise location, photos, or any contact information. This record is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising or tracking. You can turn the leaderboard off at any time, which deletes the published record; deleting your account removes it as well.

No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not send any data to any external service, advertiser, or third party. There are no ads in this app. There is no analytics or crash reporting that transmits data off your device.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Read2Play is designed for children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). App data stays safely on your device, and all purchase flows are gated behind a parent PIN. The optional reading leaderboard is also parent-PIN-gated and off by default; even when enabled it publishes only a parent-chosen nickname and score — never a child's real name, age, precise location, or photos.

In-App Purchases

Read2Play offers an optional one-time lifetime purchase (Read2Play+) processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy and terms of service.

Data Deletion

You can permanently delete all app data at any time from Settings, then Account & Security, then Delete Everything. This completely removes all data from your device. Deleting the app also removes all local data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and in the in-app privacy policy.
